Shuttle Service
Shuttle service is provided to and from the airport
and local hotels during normal business hours. Upon arrival
client must phone the toll free number for pick up. Please call
1 866 245 5501 from any payphone for shuttle service.
Location is within 4 km radius of the airport
Age
Minimum age requirement is 21 years of age. Renter must be 21yrs
with a valid driver’s license and a major credit card
in their own name. Minimum age requirement is 23 years of age
for premium cars and vans.
Driver’s age 21-24 years of age are subject to a young
driver fee of 5.00CAD per day as well as underage LDW insurance
of 19.99CAD per day with a 2000CAD deductible

Gas
All vehicles are rented with a full tank of gasoline and must
be returned full. Prepaid fuel options are
available. Please check at the rental counter for details.
General
rules
Optional LDW INS is 17CAD to 25CAD per day. Driver must present
a valid driving license and a credit card in their own name.
A refundable deposit of 500CAD taken at time of rental. Additional
driver must meet same requirements as primary driver. Additional
driver fee is $5CAD per driver. Min age requirement is 21yrs.
Government tax is 7 percent. Province tax 8 percent. Mandatory
fees including vehicle license fee of 2CAD per day, fuel tax
0.45 CAD per day maintenance fee 5CAD per rental and unlimited
mileage in Ontario and Quebec only.
Miscellaneous
Travel allowed in Canada and USA. Unlimited mileage allowed
to a maximum of 2000 kms per rental for travel in Ontario and
Quebec . Travel outside of these areas allow 200 kms per day
with 0.18CAD per km. Permitted to New York city/Boston/Washington
DC. No exceptions. Returns are allowed outside business hours.
Drop box is located inside Petro Canada.
Acceptable
forms of payment
Driver must present a current and valid credit card in their
own name. Cash rentals not allowed. Vouchers not accepted.
When traveling during peak periods credit card guarantee may
be required on certain select vehicle types such as minivans#
or during peak periods when vehicle availability is limited.
Taxes
Taxes- mandatory sales tax is 7 percent. Mandatory province
tax is 8 percent.
Fees-
Mandatory vehicle license fee 1.98CAD per day. Mandatory maintenance
charge 4.99CAD per rental. Mandatory gas tax 0.45CAD per day.
Valid driver's
license
Renter must present a valid driving license from their country
of origin. Renter must have a valid
international drivers license if the driver’s license
of origin is not printed in the roman alphabet. Renter must
have a valid passport.
Additional drivers are allowed and there may be an additional
fee if state law permits. Additional drivers must meet the same
requirements as primary driver. All location policies that apply
to the primary driver also apply to the additional driver. Additional
driver fee is 5CAD per day or 35CAD per week spouse charge is7.5CAD
flat one time fee.
Insurance
Liability insurance protects renter against claims for injury
caused to persons or property other than driver. This does not
cover the driver or rental vehicle. All Road Star vehicles
are covered by policies of insurance that provide coverage up
to the minimums prescribed by the financial responsibility laws
of the state in which the accident occurs. This can be as low
as 1000CAD. If an accident occurs either renters personal auto
policy or the Road Star liability insurance or both will
pay the claim depending on the law of the state where the accident
occurred.
*** PERSONAL EFFECTS COVERAGE ***
4.99CAD per day. PEC provides coverage for actual cash value
of personal property which renter is traveling with against
loss or damage. When the renter has shown acceptance on the
rental agreement# the renter and renters immediate family are
insured for the period of rental subject to all provisions of
the group policy. PEC cost may vary by location.
Collision
Damage Waiver
If renter purchases CDW# Road Star will waive all or part
of its right to collect from renter for collision damage to
the rental vehicle. This is not an insurance. CDW simply addresses
renters obligation to pay for damage to the rental vehicle.
This is an optional insurance.
Cost of CDW for all car groups is:
Per day deductible

There are exclusions to CDW. It can be void if renter has an
accident while intoxicated or if rental vehicle is driven on
an unpaved road# or push or tow anything. For this type of negligence.
The exclusions vary by location and are printed on the back
of the rental agreement. Drivers personal auto policy may cover
damage to the rental vehicle. If renter does not have a personal
auto policy covering the rental vehicle or proof of this coverage
at the time of rental# and the renter opts not to purchase CDW#
the rental location may choose not to release the vehicle to
the renter.
CDW for trucks and larger vehicles:
If renting a truck larger than a pickup truck# renter’s
personal auto policy may not cover the vehicle. Check with your
insurance company if uncertain. Cost of commercial insurance
is as follows... 24.95CAD per day with 1000CAD deductible. 19.95CAD
per day with 2000CAD deductible for G2 license holders 24.95CAD
per day with 2000CAD deductible for underage renter (21yrs-24yrs
old) holders.
Personal
Accident Insurance
4.99CAD per day. By electing to purchase the optional PAI coverage
at the designated daily rate# the renter and any passengers
are insured while occupying the rental vehicle subject to all
provisions of the group policy. PAI cost may vary by location
